SGH’s third triumph in the ranking by „Rzeczpospolita”

11/14/2018 en category: information

For the third time in a row, SGH was awarded the first place in the ranking of top Polish economic universities and faculties conducted by “Rzeczpospolita,” a Polish newspaper. The universities were evaluated based on four criteria – quality of education, internationalization, research potential and alumni’s careers. The data were provided by the National Information Processing Institute.

According to a summary piece by Anita Błaszczak “SGH may take pride in the fact that its alumni not only find employment after studies at the fastest rate among the alumni of the six evaluated universities (on average, they only need 1.7 month), but they are also the best remunerated. Their salaries are more than decent in terms of average wage in the place of residence, too.” What further distinguishes SGH is the availability of the most qualified research and teaching staff, and the ability to attract the most gifted candidates, including finalists and laureates of National School Contests.

‘We prepare our students in such a manner as to make them capable of updating their knowledge and holding their own on the everchanging labour market. It’s a key competence for the future,’ said SGH Rector Prof. Marek Rocki in an interview for “Rzeczpospolita”. ‘Good economic universities need to take proper care of three basic things that are crucial for the success of their alumni: to provide them with a considerable load of up-to-date knowledge, including mathematics, and to teach them how to think; to make it possible for the students to interact with lecturers who are economic practitioners; and to shape their entrepreneurial mindset,’ elaborated the Rector in response to the main question of a debate ‘How to prepare students of economic sciences for the requirements of the future labour market’ which accompanied the announcement the results of the ranking.
The first place among economic faculties was awarded to the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the University of Warsaw.
